We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Technologist focused on HVAC, Plumbing and Building Systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers in mechanical design, drafting, modelling and construction inspection services for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on the buildings and vertical infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field or have 1+ years broad field and/or design experience
Prospective candidate for AScT or P.Eng. designation.
Member of ASHRAE and/or ASPE.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
Good working knowledge of MS Office 365, SharePoint, Open AI tools, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and Revit MEP. Experience in Revit MEP is an asset.
Ability to relate 2-dimensional drawings to 3-dimensional spaces
Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, respect for diverse perspectives and clear, concise communication.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
The ability to represent the company to clients and community consistently projecting a professional and positive image.
Understand provincial and national codes and standards, such BC Building Code and ASHRAE Standards.
Ability to write basic reports.
Ability to have basic client service skills: be credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic.
Ability to understand client expectations and exceed them.
Fundamental understanding of budgets.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Work with the supervisor, project manager, associate, and principal in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with the project manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information.
Maintain a working relationship with other teammates and clients.
Participate in meetings with client, as required.
Work closely with the PM to coordinate project data and information.
Prepare technical design for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Suppression.
Review and prepare equipment selections and specifications.
Process understanding of energy analysis.
Prepare and compile drawings for technical reviews and submission to clients.
Work closely with engineers to develop drawings.
Review and mark up shop drawings.
Develop routine day-to-day design details.
Under supervisions conduct site field reviews and write reports.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Provide technical support during construction administration.
Become familiar with storing and retrieving documents appropriately onto the PKC network.
Assist in maintaining project records, tracking engineering changes, and ensuring documentation is up to date.
Perpetuate, clarify, and embody PKC Purpose and Core Values.
