Where We Work

While we are headquartered in Calgary and maintain a satellite office in Houston, most staff elect to telecommute.

What You Would Do in This Role

Reporting to the discipline lead, the engineer will participate in the design of different aspects of oil and gas projects from inception to completion. Your mechanical engineering duties will include:

• HVAC design, specifications
• HVAC document review
• Conduct load calculation, equipment sizing, data sheets etc.
• In charge of HVAC material requisitions and control contracts with their technical bid evaluations
• Review and Approve vendor design documents and contractor control system drawings
• Coordinate with cross disciplines, vendors, contractors and owner to resolve engineering issues
• Adhering to Vista Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensuring design is in accordance with applicable codes and requirements, including Vista and client specifications and standards
• Actively stewarding change management related to their scopes of work
• Preparing or assisting in the preparation of discipline inputs for cost estimates for proposals
• Authenticating documentation with a professional engineering stamp as required

Requirements

• Four to ten years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or applied science
• P.Eng. registration with APEGA
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail
• Self-motivated and efficient with time management
• Familiarity of applicable codes and industry standards
• Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits
• HVAC experience around 10 years
• Deliverable includes HVAC Design Criteria, Calculation, Datasheet, Schematic, Layout and EWP etc.
• Executed in project stages from conceptual phase to closeout phase
• Effective communication and coordination with relevant parties to resolve engineering issues
