Job Summary This position represents a mechanical engineering role within the NAV CANADA Facility Systems and Infrastructure multidisciplinary engineering team. The NAV CANADA Facility Systems and Infrastructure team is responsible for architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems at over 100 staffed and 1000 un-staffed facilities. For mechanical systems, this includes but is not limited to: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems; Building Automation Systems (BAS) and/or Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems; Plumbing; Fuel Storage Systems; Elevators; Motors and Control Systems; Fire Protection Systems

The incumbent will be responsible to provide construction support, maintenance support, system designs, technical advice, and/or life cycle engineering support for specified mechanical systems

Education:
A recognized degree in mechanical engineering, and/or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in the field of mechanical engineering in Canada
Experience:

  • Experience with mechanical engineering in the facility management and/or construction industry
  • Experience with multidiscipline construction engineering, application engineering, and consultant engineering is considered an asset
  • Experience with Technical Writing is considered an asset

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the theory and application of the principles of mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge and experience with facility mechanical systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of the federal, provincial, and local regulatory codes and practices relevant to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of the National Master Specifications
  • Knowledge and experience with the following software applications:
    • AutoCad
    • Microsoft Office (work, outlook, excel, power point)
    • Microsoft Visio
