We have an immediate opening for a Mechanic Apprentice Level 3, working out of our Goose Bay branch. This location is a constantly busy, quickly growing facility that operates with a goal-oriented and customer-driven team. As a company that deals constantly in the shifting of large construction equipment, our technician positions are vital to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with licensed technicians assisting in daily repairs of equipment; Identify areas of concern within heavy duty equipment hydraulic systems by using critical thinking skills and strategies and by applying fundamental knowledge of heavy duty equipment operation, components and their interrelationships; Identify, diagnose, assemble, recondition and test heavy duty equipment engine short blocks; Identify, inspect, diagnose, and test heavy duty equipment electrical and electronic components and systems in compliance with manufacturers' recommendations; Identify, inspect and test basic power train components and systems, including torque converters, fluid couplings and hydraulic retarders, and hydrostatic drive systems; Identify, inspect, test and maintain suspension, steering, and brake components and systems, including steering systems, tires, wheels, hubs and track type undercarriages; Utilize information technology and computer skills to access data concerning repair procedures and manufacturers' updates; Prepare logs, records, and documentation to appropriate standards; Apply business practices and communication skills to improve customer service; Develop and use personal and professional strategies and plans to improve professional growth, job performance, and work relationships; Complete all assigned work in compliance with occupational, health, safety, and environmental law; established policies and procedures; codes and regulations; and in accordance with ethical principles; Perform all work in a safe and timely manner; Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

Mechanically Inclined Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance Promotes respect and able to work in a team environment Enjoy working outdoors under all weather conditions Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Minimum high school diploma Currently enrolled, or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Technician program
