Apprentice job description

As an apprentice electrician you will be required to install, repair, test and maintain wiring, controls, motors and other electrical devices in residential, commercial and agricultural construction sectors under the supervision of a Journeyperson Electrician.

Apprentice Responsibilities

Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fitting; Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors; Install, replace, maintain and repair electrical systems and related electrical equipment; Install data cabling; Splice, join and connect wire to form circuits; Manual labour Items not limited to this list, will be depended on apprentice level and can be subjected to change.

Journeyman job description

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repair in residential, commercial and industrial settings while ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.

Journeyman Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams. Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, panels and controls systems. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs. Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective solutions. Ensure all electrical installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. Collaborate with apprentices, contractors, and other trades on job sites. Document work performed, maintain records, and communicate progress with supervisor or clients. Ensure COR safety is completed and followed.

Good communication skills including reading skills; An aptitude for math; Mechanical ability; Physical strength and stamina; The ability to work in high places; The ability to get along well with co-workers; The ability to do precision work. Familiar with hand and electrical tools Understanding of safety fundamentals
