Construction Electrician Apprentice Level 3

Job Description

Reporting to the Electrical foreman and/or journeyman, our Electrician Apprentice Level 3 must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with properly and safely installing, replacing and repairing electrical systems, lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels, including energy-efficient systems
  • Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations, including in-slab installations.
  • Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors.
  • Splice, join, and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
  • Assist with testing continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of the system following installation, replacement, or repair.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and isolating faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.
  • Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices, and heating and cooling systems.
  • Assist with planning and executing electrical installations, including EMT and conduit work.
  • Assist with conducting preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture
  • Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Active STO Certification of apprentice with recognition of Registered Training Agreemenet
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
