In this role, you will engage in the troubleshooting, maintenance, and certification of electronic and pneumatic systems associated with meter proving apparatus, ensuring all systems meet both internal and external metering requirements. Develop, maintain, and test meter systems and equipment, enhancing their functionality and performance.
Coordinate with external meter shops, labs, and manufacturers for testing and issue resolution.
Manage and update software for meter proving equipment, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
Provide technical leadership in failure analysis, system integrations, and new product evaluations.
Direct contractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and certification of measurement devices, ensuring compliance with Measurement Canada regulations.
Analyze and manage process control charts to maintain measurement accuracy.
Develop solutions and procedures for the installation and maintenance of metering and proving systems.
Lead field inspections, product audits, and certification processes for new metering equipment.
Lead the meter acceptance and seal extension programs, ensuring compliance and high performance.
Provide technical assistance and training across departments on measurement issues and system installations.
Operational Commitments:
Hold a valid Alberta Class \'\'5\'\' Driver\'s license
Travel throughout the service area territory in ATCO provided vehicle to perform assigned duties.
Participate in standby rotation for afterhours callouts
Stay overnight(s) away from home location as required
Assist in emergencies outside of regular working hours.
What You\'ll Bring:
Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute.
Consideration may be given to those with a diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute supplemented with applicable work experience.
Currently or eligible to be recognized by A.S.E.T. as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).
Experience with natural gas measurement equipment and testing criteria.
Understanding and experience with microprocessors and mechanical based measurement and control equipment.
Knowledge of the Electricity and Gas Inspections Act and Regulations would be an asset.
Proficient with Personal Computers and Microsoft Suite: Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
