As a Gas Specification Management (GSM) Technologist, you\'ll play a crucial role in ensuring our natural gas meets quality standards, supporting both our team and customers with your expertise.We\'re looking for someone who cares about their work and strives for more each day.   • Conduct detailed analysis of natural gas samples for quality control, odorization monitoring, and energy consumption evaluation.
  • Investigate anomalies in gas specifications and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders about gas usage, specifications, and quality control measures.
  • Manage and optimize our odorization monitoring and energy measurement systems.
  • Audit field heat value measurement, gas specifications, and odorization analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop work instructions and provide training and support to field personnel on energy and odorization processes.
  • Maintain a quality assurance program for field and laboratory processes, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate a wide range of field and laboratory gas quality equipment.
  • Process liquid samples and analyze foreign particles to prevent corrosion and ensure system integrity.
  • Prepare technical calculations, compile analysis reports, and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
  • Explore new testing devices and methods for gas analysis to stay ahead in the field.
  • Handle shipping/receiving duties and procurement of supplies as needed.
  • Assist in managing odorant inventory and ensure safe working practices are followed.
What You Bring:
  • A two-year diploma in a related field from a recognized technical institution, eligible for A.S.E.T. certification.
  • Valid Alberta Class \xe2\x80\x9c5\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license
  • A solid understanding of gas chromatography principles with two years of proven experience in technical equipment maintenance.
  • Considered an asset to have knowledge of applicable Company and regulatory body standards, codes (Gas Measurement, Odorization), policies and procedures (TDG, WHIMIS, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Quality Assurance, Environmental Practices).
  • Must be proficient in the use of PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access (use of Rumba considered an asset).
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer-based field and laboratory equipment.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be prepared to work in all types of weather.
  • Required to travel throughout the Company\'s service area to perform assigned duties and stay out of town as necessary.
