Your opportunity:

Under the direction and supervision of the Co-director, MFE Program, the MFE Program Assistant plays an instrumental support role for the Master of Financial Economics program by acting as the first point contact prospective applicants and students, providing program support and referring complex inquires to appropriate contacts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Disseminating program and/or service information
  • Liaising with students and faculty to coordinate program activities
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements
  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries; Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Receiving and passing on application documents for review
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Updating and maintaining records
Essential Qualifications:
  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years recent and relevant experience in providing program and course information to prospective and current students, and providing program support in admission, student placement, enrollment and scheduling etc., preferably in a university setting
  • Experience administering process and policies in an academic environment
  • Experience reviewing documents/applications and checking for completeness
  • Experience editing and formatting print and website materials, and updating online platforms
  • Experience sharing disseminating on social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Experience organizing logistics of events/meetings with the ability to perform set up and close off
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Through knowledge of ROSI, Quercus, Adobe Software and graphical design software (Mailchimp, Paint, Indesign, Publisher, Dreamweaver)
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with students from diverse background
  • Thorough knowledge of the academic policies, practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and apply initiative, adhere to established practices and procedures
  • Strong problem solving skills
