Free Play for Kids is seeking a creative and energetic Marketing & Social Media Support team member for a temporary position running from January to April. This role is ideal for someone passionate about digital storytelling, short-form content creation, and supporting engaging event activations. You'll help produce and post content on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, while also supporting marketing efforts for on-site events to ensure strong engagement and brand presence.
Education & Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field
Experience in digital marketing, social media, or graphic design (volunteer or paid)
Proficiency in Google Workspace (G Suite), Zoom, and Microsoft Office
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Previous experience with youth-focused or community-based organizations is an asset
Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, and post short-form content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels
Assist with social media strategy, analytics, and audience engagement
Support marketing and branding for on-site events and activations, including signage, digital assets, and content capture
Collaborate on digital communications projects such as newsletters, website updates, and internal presentations
Organize and manage photos, videos, and design files, ensuring consistency with Free Play's visual identity
Contribute to storytelling initiatives that highlight Free Play's programs and impact
Skills & Knowledge
Strong written and visual communication skills
Proficiency with social media platforms and basic analytics
Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Interest in youth programming, sport, and community engagement
Position Conditions
Part-time position (15-20 hours per week)
Flexibility to work afternoons and evenings is preferred
Work performed primarily in a recreation centre environment; program sites may vary
