The Marketing and Social Media Coordinator plays a key role in supporting VanMar Ontario marketing and communications efforts by managing social media channels, coordinating proposal submissions, maintaining marketing assets, and executing digital campaigns that highlight our construction and development projects. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will contribute to strengthening our brand presence, supporting business development, and enhancing client engagement across various platforms.
Essential Functions
Manage and maintain the company's social media accounts by creating and sharing engaging content that showcases current projects, supports brand awareness, and helps drive new business opportunities.
Monitor trends and best practices across social platforms, providing strategic input to enhance audience engagement and visibility.
Prepare, design, format, and assemble proposal submissions in response to RFPs, including gathering or drafting non-technical content such as company profiles, project overviews, and team resumes.
Keep proposal files and marketing collateral up to date, ensuring accurate and consistent project information is available for submissions, presentations, and internal use.
Track proposal outcomes, feedback, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
Collect and organize marketing materials including project photography, brochures, presentation decks, advertisements, and departmental manuals.
Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns across email, social media, and web platforms on a regular basis.
Create and maintain engaging written, visual, and video content to promote conversations and grow follower engagement.
Monitor and report on campaign performance metrics, offering insights and suggestions for optimization.
Coordinate and manage photography of both in-progress and completed projects to ensure current visual assets are available.
Develop and distribute a quarterly newsletter by gathering content from various departments.
Regularly update and maintain content on the VanMar ON website to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Provide support on various marketing and administrative projects as needed.
Job Specifications
Post-secondary education in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience in the construction and/or real estate development industry is considered a strong asset.
Graphic Design and/or photography experience is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign), Canva, and other relevant tools.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
Highly organized, with strong time management and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Analytical mindset with creative problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude.
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable handling pressure, shifting priorities, and tight timelines with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Friendly, approachable, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative work culture.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for project site visits or company events.
