Overview:

Paladin Security is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Guard to protect a large manufacturing facility located at Highway 6 & Dundas Street East, Waterdown. This role is essential in maintaining the safety of personnel, visitors, and property through vigilant monitoring, patrols, and effective incident response.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and integrity of a site operating under Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) standards.

Responsibilities:

Protect property, assets, and personnel through proactive patrols and continuous monitoring. Maintain strict access control for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles entering or leaving the site. Conduct regular patrols (interior and exterior) to identify safety hazards, policy breaches, or maintenance concerns. Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergencies. Operate and monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors while upholding professional standards. Log and track keys, radios, and other site equipment during audits. Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries in accordance with site policy. Report any unsafe working conditions or facility damage to management. Provide First Aid and emergency medical assistance as required. Prepare detailed incident and activity reports for all daily and emergency events. Collaborate with emergency services and support staff as needed. Promote a safe and inclusive environment while adhering to Paladin and client policies.

Requirements:

Must meet eligibility criteria for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), including: Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Continuous residence in Canada for the past five (5) years Clean credit and criminal record Ability to provide three personal and three professional references Proficiency in computer literacy (CCTV, access control, and report writing software) Ability to sit, stand, and walk/climb stairs throughout the facility and push a minimum of 25 lbs Minimum six months of security experience and six months of customer service experience Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Level C certification Proficient in English (oral and written) Must be able to work overnight shifts and weekends Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants who do not possess UOF/MOAB certifications may complete Paladin's pre-employment training (covered with a six-month commitment)
