Job Description

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools invites applications for the position of Manager - Workplace Wellness and Benefits - commencing August 1, 2025 (or another mutually agreed upon date).
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS) is Saskatchewan's largest Catholic school division, serving more than 22,000 students across 50 schools in Saskatoon, Biggar, Humboldt, Warman and Martensville. Our dynamic and growing school division currently employs 3,000 full and part-time teaching, support and service staff. Our faith-based approach to learning promotes the academic, physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of our students.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Human Resource Services, the Manager will provide Human Resource expertise to the division and staff of Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coaching and advising school administration on human resource related issues
  • Leading division-wide attendance management strategies
  • Leading initiatives to enhance employee wellness and workplace safety
  • Manage division Workers' Compensation Board claims
  • Contributing to the entire H.R. function within Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools
  • Supporting the hiring of teaching, support, and service staff as required
The Manager - Workplace Wellness and Benefits is a highly skilled and dynamic individual who possess the following required skills and attributes:
  • Related University Degree
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience providing advice and guidance to hiring agents and supervisors
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationship with a variety of employee groups and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to model safe, healthy and adaptable work practices
  • Experience in benefits, compensation, and wellness portfolios
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant labour legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop presentations, compile reports and liaise with external partners
  • Awareness of the need to foster positive relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations and communities
  • Commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education and active participation in the life of a parish community
In addition, preference may be given to candidates with:
  • CPHR designation
  • Experience in a unionized setting
  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan education sector
