About The Role



This position executes a wide range of initiatives across our sites in Quebec and its remote employees in Canada to support overall wellness and contribute to a positive workplace experience and the organizations goals. The Manager, Wellness and Benefits will play an important role and work strategically on developing and enhancing Health, Safety, Prevention, and Wellness related programs, initiatives, training and tools as well as operationally by administering workplace-related leaves and benefits in compliance with provincial legislations. This position oversees an HR Coordinator role and works closely with the HR operations team.

Wellness and Benefits



Works with HR Director to develop employee health and wellness strategic plan to meet organizational and employee needs.A Responsible for deployment of the various wellness initiatives and programs and evaluate their effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative analysis.A Works with EFAP, group benefit and other healthcare providers to create events, highlight assessment tools and provide sources of health and wellness information.A Coordinate events related to Health, Wellness and Benefits and manage employee communication, developing new content where needed. Events may include vaccinations campaigns, and health education workshops, webinars and lunch & learn for employee, activity challenges, etc. Makes recommendations to improve prevention and to enhance employee Health and Wellness in the workplace. Provides employee and manager training on various wellness, leave, health & safety and group benefit programs and tools to increase stakeholder knowledge and autonomy. Develops KPI to related fields and shares progression with HR Management and respective customer management groups.A Incorporate and adapt strategy and initiative based on feedback.A Works with HR Director on benefit program orientation and redesigns (group benefits, EAP, Telemedicine, etc.) providing input to ensure support of wellness goals and industry practices. Oversees HR Coordinator for benefits management requests and audits. Stays up to date with the latest wellness trends as well as legislative requirements and best practices to ensure our programs remain relevant, engaging and compliant.

Leaves and Health & Safety



Manages claims related to LTD/SST, SAAQ, IVAC and ensures compliance with applicable legislation and company policies. Provide guidance to HR professionals managing maternity/paternity or short-term disability requests. Ensures accurate record keeping in systems (electronical, paper or HCM system), processes, reports, and other documentation stored and updated under relevant policies or standards. Investigates workplace accidents/incidences. Performs ergonomic assessments, as required. Plays an active and key role in OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) committees and ensures compliance. Ensures effective and timely communication and coordination with employees, managers and internal parties (HR, OHC, payroll) as well as external government agencies and service providers. Plays an advisory role to develop managersaEUR(TM) knowledge and autonomy related to leaves and Health, Safety and Wellness. Ensures effective management of returns to work by developing intervention strategies and reintegration plans, and assessing required accommodation options if applicable, in collaboration with all stakeholders (managers, employees, insurers, and medical experts/practitioners as applicable). Manages workplace accommodation requests through functional ability documentation and analysis ensuring compliance to applicable legislation. Creates, develops and implements guides, tools and training. Works with HR Director on all claims/leaves with high complexity or with legal implications. Represents the organization in any legal/government agency disputes. Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave, health and safety as well as accommodation laws in Canada.A Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files. Provides regular reporting on leave cases and progress.

What You'll Need to Succeed



BacheloraEUR(TM)s degree in human resources or related field preferred or equivalent work experience. A specialized degree in Health and Safety is an asset. And a minimum of 5 yearsaEUR(TM) experience in a similar role. Experience managing a team is an asset. CHRP designation is an asset. MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Good knowledge of HCM systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and in English to support employees and managers across Canada as well as communicate with government agencies outside of the provide. Ability to write reports and develop training documentation. A Ability to speak effectively in a group setting. Extensive experience managing STD, LTD, Workplace Accidents claims, accommodation requests and interacting with insurers and government agencies. Good knowledge of Wellness and disability management programs and trends. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally in interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Requires exceptional attention to detail. Adapts approach to various stakeholders and works collaboratively. Possess excellent organization and time management skills. Good problem-solving approach and able to build consensus.
