Job Description

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the incumbent will ensure efficient and effective management of the unit's activities in accordance with applicable laws and requirements. More specifically, the Manager - Compensation and Benefits will manage the following main activities:

  • Supervise, coordinate and support the Pay and Benefits Agents under his/her responsibility;
  • Supervise payroll production and related activities;
  • Ensure the quality of work accomplished and the distribution of tasks according to priorities;
  • Ensure optimal operation of human resources, payroll and time management computer systems;
  • Plan year-end payroll operations and ensure that year-end statements and annual payroll reports are submitted to the various authorities;
  • Coordinate various projects and files according to predefined deadlines;
  • Participate in the development of compensation and benefits management policies, guides, training and procedures;
  • Conduct various compensation and benefits analyses and studies;
  • Participate in the job evaluation and pay equity process;
  • Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of group insurance contracts, determine the terms and conditions and make adjustments in the event of amendments to collective agreements and agreements;
  • Participate in budgeting and monitoring compensation expenses;
  • Assess the impact of legislative, regulatory, organizational and policy changes on current procedures and make recommendations to meet operational needs;
  • Perform any other related tasks.
  • Undergraduate degree in a field related to the position;
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position is required;
  • The function requires a good knowledge of French and English to be able to sustain a conversation, such as to participate in a work meeting, or to write short texts or internal reports;
  • Membership of the National Payroll Institute is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools;
  • Knowledge of Kronos is an asset;
  • Knowledge of DLGL's VIP human resources information system is an asset.
