Your opportunity

Our ESG Services team is looking for a Manager of Sustainability and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) to join BDO's Risk Advisory Consulting team to lead the delivery of Sustainability engagements, including program development and implementation services to clients across a range of industries.

Our growing ESG practice provides a range of advisory services to clients in both the private and public sectors. Core services include ESG strategy and reporting, risk assessments, climate change strategy development and ESG program enablement. This position can be filled remotely from anywhere in Canada. As a manager, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of projects for clients with a focus on:
  • Performing research, stakeholder engagement, and analysis as part of ESG risk and opportunity analyses
  • Assist in developing appropriate disclosures and reports in accordance with leading ESG reporting standards & frameworks.
  • Preparing and delivering training on ESG reporting developments and their implications
  • Deliver ESG strategy engagements to clients in a variety of industries
  • Develop ESG programs in-line with the requirements of TCFD framework requirements and other leading ESG frameworks (SASB, GRI, etc.)
  • Lead the development of informative, compelling and persuasive client-facing project deliverables, presentations and collateral materials using your command of publishing resources (including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Support client relationships and business development initiatives such as selling ESG engagements, leading proposal preparation, identifying new target clients, holding sales call/meetings and developing ESG-related "go to market" strategies

Your experience and education
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant ESG-related consulting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, Science, Accounting is preferred
  • Be bilingual and be able to deliver client engagements in both French and English
  • Possess experience in enabling ESG programs in-line with TCFD and other leading ESG frameworks (GRI & SASB)
  • Possess advisory and/or assurance experience associated with sustainability, environmental and/or greenhouse gas reporting considered an asset
  • Be able to analyze new and emerging trends in the business, risk, and environment, social and governance (ESG) landscape
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to work on multiple or complex projects simultaneously
  • Have demonstrated ability in providing excellent client service with the ability to maintain strong client relationships
