Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Acute Care Programs and/or Director of Long Term Care, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management philosophy of the Misericordia Health Centre, the Patient/Resident Care Manager provides leadership for the healthcare team in promoting patient/resident centered care. The Patient/Resident Care Manager ensures that adequate human and material resources are available to support the 24 hour delivery of safe, quality patient/resident care. The Manager of Patient/Resident Care seeks to promote and maintain a positive, professional, team oriented and service conscious environment.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice. S Experience in ICU or PACU required (Ophthalmology).
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with others in the acquisition, allocation and utilization of fiscal and human resources.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing or relevant health care discipline required.
  • Master\'s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate in Gerontology preferred (Long Term Care Program).
  • Emergency nursing course preferred (Urgent Care).
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration with CRNM.

Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
