Position Summary
The
Manager, Promotion
leads initiatives that enhance the visibility, reputation, and engagement of the OWHA and women's hockey across Ontario. This role focuses on storytelling, digital engagement, event promotion, and brand management--celebrating the achievements, growth, and spirit of the game.
Key Responsibilities
Champion and promote the OWHA's mission, values, and programs.
Manage and grow the OWHA's online presence, including website and social media.
Create and curate compelling content that highlights participants, events, and milestones.
Lead communications, promotional campaigns, and special projects (e.g., 50th Anniversary initiatives).
Maintain historical archives and records celebrating the evolution of female hockey.
Coordinate OWHA presence at events, conferences, and community activations.
Oversee production of promotional materials and branded merchandise.
Incorporate promotional strategies into the OWHA Strategic Plan.
Support internal communications, general administration, and adherence to confidentiality standards.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency with content management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience managing events and virtual or in-person activations.
Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills.
Creative problem-solving ability and comfort working independently or collaboratively.
Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and safe sport principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with content management tools.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Valid driver's license and ability to transport light materials.
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, or Business.
Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing, promotions, communications, or sport management.
Proven ability to manage digital platforms, including websites and social media channels.
Knowledge of women's hockey, sport management, or experience promoting female sport is preferred.
