Primary Accountabilities
As the Manager, Programs you will accomplish department goals to stimulate growth in agriculture and agri-food industries through public sector investment in developmental programs. You will act as the leader in implementing funding agreements for the agri-food industry while also designing and developing strategic programs based on industry needs and provincial and federal departmental priorities. This position also focuses on creating effective policy and regulatory framework by developing and maintaining strong relationships with government and local authorities as well as evaluating the financial, policy and regulatory implications.
In addition to the above, you will play a key role in the development and communication of the programs budget to senior officials throughout the department and provide leadership in change/crisis management to respond to everchanging industry needs and trends.
Qualifications and Experience
You have a bachelors degree in a related field (such as Agriculture or Business) as well as some progressive experience in a similar role with time spent as a team leader. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
To ensure your success within this role, you will have strong budget experience and a good understanding of financial management. You excel at program development and building lasting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders as well as possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). This position will also require you to have a good understanding of the Nova Scotia Agriculture Industry.
Experience with Project Management and CRM Systems as well as with Federal/Provincial Territorial relationships will be an asset.
