Our Team:
The Mine Design and Infrastructure Systems team is accountable for leading technical professional mining engineers, and specialists in the safe design of underground mine development, stope geometry, ore extraction schedule and in the design and sustainability of systems necessary for production required by the mine sites.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Manager of Mine Design and Infrastructure Systems to join our Mining Design and Infrastructure team supporting the operation of our North Atlantic mines. This is a permanent position based in Sudbury, Ontario.
This role is accountable for ensuring designs directly support the management of critical risks in the underground environment. This function must confirm designs deliver systems that are compliant with the legislative requirements unique to provincial mining legislation as well as Vale standards and guidelines.
This function will consolidate the provincial Life of Mine Plans and direct the systems and templates used to create the site-specific plans. The role has the technical authority for the standardization of the digital toolset employed across the mines to efficiently and transparently optimize the value extracted from our natural resources.
