Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank\'s Global Compliance Data, Analytics and Technology Enablement unit, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team\'s business strategies and objectives and all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Senior Manager, Product Owner Compliance Systems drives consistency across the Bank\'s GRC technology solutions through aligned and simplified processes, increased automation and integrated technology solutions to provide a holistic view of key factors for risk management and executive decision making.

Accountabilities

• Manage and oversee one or more of the Transactional GRC Systems (such as OpenPages / Enterprise Case Management-ECM Oracle / ClauseMatch / Compliance data bases) to drive customer satisfaction and proper risk management, by:

• Collaborating with the Technology and Business teams to understand and articulate the product vision, customer impacts, stakeholders value, system dependencies and technological processes.
• Drive problem solving of complex issues through in-depth research, identifying options and evaluating against strategic and execution criteria to recommend a proposed approach
• Facilitates communication and coordinate across multi-disciplined teams; clearly and effectively define and communicate complex problems that are specifically tailored to audiences from stakeholders to senior management.
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to partners as required
• Work closely with project team(s) and stakeholders to maintain focus driving progress towards further process simplification, supported by technology tools and based on sound data and analytics
• Partner with Change Management team to develop and execute on adoption strategy and continuous enhancement of training materials
• Create process lifecycle documentation (functional requirements, system development milestones, user test, deployment roadmap) related to OpenPages / ClauseMatch / ECM and other systems, simplification or innovation initiatives, including end-to-end process map
• Champion automation and technology adoption to solve or optimize compliance directives, participating in new services and solutions design and development and though leadership initiatives
• Be actively involved in the preparation, conception, realization and Go Live of implementation projects
• Ensure products are performing as expected and resolving issues that arise in a timely manner with updates to partners and escalations to management as required
• Supports Director, GRC Systems with ad-hoc data analysis, problems solving, and project execution in order to support the overall Data and Analytics and Technology Enablement team
• Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank\'s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Experience

• Education, Information technology /Business Management
• IBM OpenPages / GRC certification
• 5+ years leading and building high performance teams
• Knowledge of the Bank\'s application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset
• Regulatory Compliance, Audit or Internal Controls role in a large Financial Institution experience
• Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset
• Spanish speaking is an asset
• Passion for innovation coupled with positive attitude, thirst for knowledge, team oriented, pragmatic
• Proven ability to develop creative, human-centered solutions which balance end-user experience, total cost of ownership, complexity, and speed to market
• Strong organizational skills an asset
• Strong technical competency an asset
