Missions and Responsibilities

The Manager, Market Leads and Business Development is responsible for ensuring continuous support to the sales team by way of leads and potential new business by staying on top of the market, analyzing new opportunities, and developing a strategy for new markets to penetrate. The incumbent will be responsible for the hiring, development and coaching of the inside business development team and the multi-location specialists while promoting the safety and quality objectives of Air Liquide Canada. In addition, the incumbent will provide adequate support of sales growth and profits for the regions in accordance with the corporate sales plan.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Business Development: Provide support to the inside business development team to ensure they seek out, source and vet leads for potential new or expanded business. This includes inquiries generated from the Air Liquide Canada website, the attendance and support at trade shows and exhibitions and cold-calling. In addition, must be able to guide the sales and marketing efforts through segmentation of the market by industry sector, products and/or applications that are most likely to result in growth of profitable sales.
  • Market Analysis & Strategic Development: Consistently conduct analysis of the metal fabrication market to understand the trends, competitor offerings and customer demographics. Evaluate the feasibility of entering and exiting certain markets and additional applications for our portfolio of products. Will be the lead liaison for Air Liquide Canada on the Powerzone implementation.
  • Multi Location Support: Support the multi-location account specialist in their account negotiations and communication with customers that need direct support and a single point of contact to handle their multiple sites. Responsible for developing and maintaining a yearly roadmap/vision for these customers to ensure growth of wallet share and conduct quarterly reviews. Reviews and maintains sales reports, indicating sales growth, trends and other information, in order to take appropriate corrective measures.Shall also ensure proper management of customer complaints.
  • Provides coaching and development of the team: Motivates and helps each person in the team by making sure that each member has the appropriate skills, training and resources needed to operate autonomously. Shares the overall department objectives to be attained and takes the necessary measures to ensure their execution fulfillment. Keeps informed about industry developments and shares his/her experience and know-how.
  • Process improvement: Works with his/her team as well as with multifunctional teams to continuously improve the work process. Identifies causes of problems and proposes corrective measures accordingly.
  • Quality / Safety: Actively promotes ALC safety objectives. Knows and respects all procedures as indicated in ALC Quality Manual.
Competencies and Profile
  • Diploma : Bachelor degree or combination of studies and experience in cylinders, welding and industrial products.
  • Knowledge: computer systems, Google Suite, written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, bilingualism required (French/English)
  • Experience : 3-5 years related experience. Experience in supervising a team is preferred.
