TD IT Operations is home to a team of highly-valued professionals recognized for both their customer-service mindsets and dedication to seamless 24-7 running of our infrastructure technologies. They also manage what we call the implementation and delivery life cycle for IT components across the various technology groups. Component installation, maintenance and decommissioning, operational or help desk support, system performance, capacity and availability monitoring, migration, emerging technology assessment, implementation, release management and deployment support - you name it. There's room to grow in all of it.

About This Role
We are looking for someone to manage a team of motivated IT professionals who care about client service and deliver IT Operations services, support and solutions. You'll be immersed in work that matters. As a team leader, you'll inspire others with the results you deliver.
Meaningful work is fueled by meaningful performance and career development conversations with your manager. Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:

  • Manage operations, support and management of products, systems, applications and services.
  • Drive incident, product and change management and production readiness for new environments, champion simplification, automation plus end-to-end capacity and performance management.
  • Oversee metrics.
  • Manage crisis situations, oversee issue escalation and resolution.
  • Coordinate incident rand service quality reviews.
  • Support, participate, lead in developing your area's strategy.
  • Lead environment development and configuration from conceptualization through stabilization using various platforms.
  • Lead effort to test, debug, performance analyze and document environment components.
  • Research. Innovate. Offer suggestions on building, buying and reusing system components.
  • Negotiate, document project deliverables, timelines, charters, costing, governance.
  • Educate clients on technology choices. consult on system strategy, architecture and design, industry trends, help them with technical literacy to help them make informed decisions.
  • Set TD's technology operations and manageability standards.
  • Monitor service levels, set targets, take action.
  • Follow process management discipline for change management of all systems managed.
  • Maintain effective dialogue with regulatory bodies and standards organizations.
  • Respect TD's technology delivery practices, standards, project management disciplines.
  • Produce sound business cases with focus on reusability, scalability, innovation, and enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Provide coaching, development, succession, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, input into performance and development plans.

Job Requirements
What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • Graduate Degree preferred.
  • 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and/or projects (including financials) with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope.
  • Ability to work independently and often autonomously in the management of projects, teams and operational disciplines and apply strategic thinking throughout the execution of work plans.
  • Confidence in managing system enhancements, new releases or projects typically focused on a specific product/system/application of moderate scope and complexity;.
  • Diverse, innovative thinking with respect to reusability of architecture and processes.
  • Sound management techniques, experience in problem resolution and development of strategies for operational improvement.
  • Drive to boost your knowledge and expertise by staying abreast of industry and business trends.
  • Willingness to work closely and effectively with clients, stay connected to business needs and direction.
  • Leadership in growing team expertise to align with demand and TD's business and technology direction; assess team capabilities, identify ways to provide and enhance value delivered.
  • Ability to travel to various locations within Ontario and Quebec.
