Reporting to the Director, Talent Technology & Operations, the Manager, Talent Technology & Operations will manage planning and execution of system enhancements and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the HR technology environment. The manager will liaise with the technology team, vendors, as well as centers of excellence within the Talent department to project manage the delivery of digital enhancements. This will include leading prioritization, requirements, configuration and testing activities. The incumbent will focus on system optimization and cyclical process delivery by leveraging best practices and ensuring that deliverables support the department\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in optimizing Talent technology by evaluating our current and desired business processes and system capabilities
  • Partner to develop and maintain a prioritization framework to support the Talent technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and objectives
  • Actively participate in the requirements gathering, development, testing, configuration, and implementation of new projects and enhancements to existing functionality across Workday and other applications.
  • Participate in business acceptance testing activities, focusing on business functionality and optimal business process design, integrations, reports and security governance
  • Draft detailed project plans, including the identification of dependencies and risk mitigation strategies and share project updates with key stakeholders
  • Identify people, processes, and system changes required to improve processes and understand the end-to-end flow of Talent data across multiple systems
  • Oversee the development of systems training and documentation of standard operating procedures
  • Leverage advisory skills to influence digitally enabled processes based on best practices and advise on existing technology capabilities
  • Work with functional and technical experts to understand requirements and communicate system capabilities/limitations to increase the impact of Workday and other applications within Talent
  • Liaise with required stakeholders to engage in troubleshooting activities, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Oversee cyclical process delivery within our HR applications by ensuring that internal and external resources understand requirements and timelines are met
  • Work in an Agile method \xe2\x80\x93 assist with user story documentation, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and collaboration with an Agile product team comprised of HR and IT colleagues
Qualifications
  • The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a similar role.
  • Solid project management experience including planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication, advisory and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address requirements
  • Experience leading functional enhancements in Workday is preferable
  • Experience with other talent applications such as PeopleFluent, Qualtrics, SmartRecruiters and case management applications such as ServiceNow are an asset
  • Experience with Agile project methodology is an asset
  • Proven ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and identify solutions
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization, foster effective working relationships and demonstrate an innovative mindset
