The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD\xe2\x80\x99s consolidated non-trading market and liquidity risk, funding strategies and transfer pricing, as well as capital and stress testing. The Enterprise Stress Testing group (EST) is responsible for managing the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s capital related stress testing programs and supporting the Climate Stress Analysis program. EST is responsible for developing scenarios used by the Enterprise and Subsidiaries used in support of Internal and Regulatory Capital Adequacy Assessment Processes. EST also manages the execution of Enterprise Stress Testing and Climate Change Stress Analysis. EST is responsible for reporting Enterprise Stress results to senior executive, Board committees and regulators.
The position is responsible for the aggregation, analytics and reporting processes of the Enterprise-wide (EWST) Stress Testing and Climate Stress Analysis programs. The role supports the system development, testing and implementation of changes and enhancements to the EWST aggregation process, analytics, reporting, controls and sourcing of reconciled financial data. A key function of the position is the monitoring and development of Stress Risk Appetite measures and limit setting to be utilized strategically across the Bank. The position will afford the candidate the opportunity to have their work/analysis used in presentations to senior executives across many of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s businesses. The role leads the co-ordination and tracking of issues and errors during and leading up to the stress cycle. As well, the role is responsible for developing analytic and ad-hoc sensitivity reports while ensuring workstream standards. Furthermore, the candidate will also support the development and execution of Climate Stress Assessment Reporting.
  • Enterprise Stress Testing Aggregation and Controls
  • Responsible for overseeing the aggregation system logic and validation controls
  • Responsible for identification of enhancement opportunities and develop required system changes to meet regulatory changes.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the STEAR (Stress Testing Execution Analytics and Reporting) Team to ensure new requirements are effectively tested and implemented within the SAS system.
  • Responsible for monitoring effectiveness of aggregation and controls executed by the STEAR Team
  • Lead co-ordination with dependent workstreams and stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely clarification of requirements and resolution of issues.

  • Enterprise Stress Testing Reporting and Analysis
  • Lead ad-hoc and sensitivity analysis in support of acquisitions, business strategy changes, and management assessment evolving and identified risks.
  • Responsible for developing advanced reporting capabilities to support regulatory, management and committee reporting requirements
  • Responsible for developing analytic capabilities that produce insightful and actionable analysis
  • Responsible for providing effective supporting commentary during the stress cycle
  • Responsible for the execution and reporting of Stress Earnings at Risk for the Enterprise and Segments. Assist with annual recalibration of Limits

  • Climate Stress Analysis (CSA) Reporting
  • Support the development of robust and effective aggregation and reporting capabilities to meet Management and Regulatory CSA requirements
  • Lead the co-ordination with key stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and submission
  • Responsible to ensure effective controls are established, executed, and documented

Excellent inter-personal and internal relationship management skills
The candidate will be required to work extensively with different stakeholder groups both within and outside of the Treasury department. The candidate must have demonstrated a proven capability to complete tasks through gaining organizational buy-in, using both formal and informal channels. Strong organizational, follow-up and priority-setting skills, and ability to interact well with many areas and individuals at all levels of the Bank Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The candidate should have demonstrated their ability to summarize complicated issues into simple communication stories often relaying subjects and problems to stakeholders with little knowledge. Strong technical skills related to Regulatory requirements for Stress testing, as well as solid business acumen and understanding of Retail Banking. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to use various technologic tools including VBA, SAS, and SQL. A good understanding of Software System Design and Data architecture would be an asset. Attention to detail
The position is responsible for the consolidation and reporting of complex models, controls and other submission details from a large and diverse group of stakeholders. The candidate must be prepared to spend the time required to thoroughly understand all requirements, conduct \xe2\x80\x9cdeep-dives\xe2\x80\x9d into processes/ practices in order to ensure accuracy of work. Attention to detail and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team are necessary skills.
Strong project management capabilities
The role involves managing a large number of stakeholders including their interdependencies under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong project management capabilities to prioritize and manage simultaneous job demands. Good business judgment
The candidate must be able to exercise good business judgment in assessing opportunities, identifying potential problem areas, and recommending/ providing timely solutions. Additional Information
Specific experience and education requirements of the EST Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Reporting and Analytics:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
  • CPA, MBA, CFA, or other professional designations, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in VBA, SAS, SQL Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Minimum 3 years of Bank, trading or treasury related experience with progressing levels of operational and/or team management responsibility
  • Knowledge of Stress Testing, capital markets, asset/liability management principles and banking products
  • Knowledge of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s financial and management reporting infrastructure (Hyperion) and strong accounting background would be an asset
