Position: Manager, Database Administration
Location: Hybrid Role, Downtown Toronto
Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Look no further! Our client in Downtown Toronto has the perfect opportunity for you. They are looking for a Manager, Database Administration.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage the 3 internal Database administrators
- Assist the organization to move to modern databases such as Mongo, No SQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, enhancement and support of the organization\'s goals and maintain its day-to-day functions
- Handle database administration management, database security - audit and compliance, strategy and planning, leadership and people development, project and financial responsibility

Requirements:

- 7 to 10 years of experience in the IT industry
- 7 to 10 years of experience as a database administrator (DBA)
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role
- Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience with Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 databases
- Experience with open-source databases (ex. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
- In-depth knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and data security
- Experience in performance tuning, backup, restore, recovery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leaders and business partners
- Excellent Service Management skills in the areas of Incident, Change and Problem Management
- Experience with license and vendor management and demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, and platforms
- Some exposure to Cloud preferably Azure
