What is the opportunity?

We are hiring a Manager, Data Analysis In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for Cards, Payments & Banking Data, playing a key role in driving superior business results, by enabling product managers to have access to data and insights through analytics reports and dashboards on new and existing business opportunities. Champion the use of deep analytic rigour as the basis for the decision management methodology and leverage all available sources of data to create value within the business.

What will you do?

  • Become the data subject matter expert (SME) for Cards, Payments and Banking, Retail, Small business and Commercial credit card holders
  • Perform data analysis and communicate meaningful insights that inform strategy and action
  • Seek opportunities to automate and streamline analytics and reporting steps
  • Develop reports to detect and trace data anomalies and perform impact analysis
  • Transform the way Cards, Payments and Banking uses data by developing advanced reporting and analytics to serve external and internal clients.
  • Responsible for the rapid deployment of reporting and analytics to define new potential business opportunities and to make well informed decisions (short and long term) through the use of internal, industry and competitor data.
  • Participate and contribute to projects with other partner groups to meet business requirements on behalf of Cards, Payments & Banking that are completed using other Centre's of Excellence
  • Maintain all the functions and current ETL jobs in CDP
  • Continued focus on EDL data enablement to create easily consumable datasets: create detailed data dictionary, build better data structure, optimize daily job to be more effective
  • Develop deep understanding of CSDM data explore all existing core tables acquisition /portfolio /semantic layer/application
  • Improve existing ETL processes for the python pipelines to be more easily to adopt other data source
  • Update GitHub and confluence sites to increase the efficiency of code management and knowledge sharing
What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • Proven technical skills and experience at using analytical software tools and applications
  • 3+ years working experience with SQL, Python, Spark, Tableau
  • 3+ years experienced working with data in relational databases and/or Hadoop
  • 2+ years working experience in Unix/Linux Shell scripting
  • Demonstrated research and analytical capabilities with proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to conceptualize strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well collaboratively in a cross function environment as well as independently, taking initiative and ownership.
Nice to have:

Knowledge of RBC databases and RBC data warehouse environment.

Knowledge of credit cards, payments and/or banking

Knowledge in SAS
