The Manager, Cruise Groups leads our groups team in optimizing our groups business, negotiating better group terms, and bringing awareness and advocacy to our groups program as a competitive advantage in the market. The Cruise Groups Manager will lead and oversee the groups team in the daily operations of their brand groups and be responsible for overall performance of groups. This individual will also play a critical role in identifying opportunities to maximize Tour Conductor revenue and profitability for Expedia Cruises. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance the group terms for each cruise brand
  • Manage a team of cruise group managers to set priorities, targets, and performance
  • Leads the Cruise Groups team in managing their cruise brands to maximize TC revenue
  • Partners with Analytics/Technology teams to identify opportunities for Cruise Groups team to leverage reports and data to increase TC revenues
  • Proactively identify consultant requirements for system booking tools and works with key stakeholders to ensure these needs are addressed
  • Collaborate with the L&D team to maintain and update the group cruise training
  • Manage the corporate event groups inventory to assist events team, franchise and suppliers partners
  • Escalate customer service concerns to suppliers to a successful resolution as needed
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of assigned cruise lines group policies (including pricing and promotional offers)
  • Monitor and share insights on industry and competitor best practices
  • Be an advocate to drive improvements with the corporate groups to remain our competitive advantage
  • Utilize data to identify trends, uncover opportunities/risks and to drive decisions with regards to new deployments
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and support the Cruise Group team for the following:
  • Daily management of all our brand\xe2\x80\x99s assigned group inventory to maximize TC revenues and drive profitability
  • Define amenity/gap points across assigned cruise line groups
  • Manage the lifecycles and reconciles all assigned cruise line groups
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements within their cruise line groups
  • Load all group amenities onto the sites via the Promotional Management Tool to drive sales into those sailings
  • Assist with processing and entering new group cruise inventory
  • Monthly review, tracking and communication to stakeholders of TC revenue and receivables
  • Main point of contact for commission queries
  • Liaise with finance with regards to unknown commission payments received
  • Liaise with franchisee and cruise line with regards to missing commissions
  • Main point of contact for system (Partner Central / Odysseus) group related issues (ticket submissions)
  • Contribute product content in network newsletters and team meeting PowerPoints
  • Support the Events team with bookings and customer issues for National Conference and Anchor Meetings
  • Relationship Management
  • Communicate group risks and opportunities with internal stakeholders
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders at the cruise lines
  • Establish a respected voice with the Franchisees and Consultant and continuously builds strong relationships across the team and organization
  • Engage Franchisees and Consultants in communicating the groups competitive advantages

  • Strong knowledge of the cruise industry and group policies / programs
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong change agent with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure while performing multiple tasks

  • Ability to effectively collaborate across several departments
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience using cruise line booking tools - POLAR, Espresso, Norwegian Central, etc.
