Position Summary and Scope of Service: Directly accountable to the Senior Manager, Corporate Services, the Manager, Corporate Education:
  • Implements and oversees programs that increase efficiency, strengthen employee knowledge and abilities, improves leadership and maintains the overall health of the organization
  • Works with Directors/Managers in diagnosing skill gaps and setting objectives, then develops or secures leadership development and training programs to meet those goals
  • Manages, designs and implements policies and procedures relating to organization and staff development
  • Helps employees adjust to new procedures during times of change
  • Participates in the development and implementation of corporate change initiative projects
  • Develops employee training and development plans to address succession needs of the organization in consultation with Directors/Managers
  • Consults on staff development, adult learning and training issues with Directors/Managers
  • Manages the planning, design, selection, implementation, use, and administration of emerging and converging information and communications technologies and effectively integrates them, along with people and business processes in support of organizational strategic goals
Qualifications: Educational:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Computer Science, MIS, IT, or equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Adult Education Certificate or equivalent education
  • Education related to Leadership/Management Certificate, Project/Change, Continuous Improvement or equivalent management training is an asset
Professional:
  • Minimum of two years previous leadership/management experience
  • Minimum of two years recent related experience in the area of adult education and organizational development, including experience in program planning and curriculum design and development
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, project management, and group facilitation
  • Demonstrated competency in managing change initiatives
  • Knowledge of current adult learning concepts, training techniques, and program planning and implementation
  • Experience in writing recommendations and proposals
  • Understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Understanding of project management principles
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
  • Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to professional and administrative staff
  • Skill in the utilization of organizational management principles, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments

  • Ability to conceptualize and implement innovative and efficient staff development programs in response to identified needs and organizational values

Duties and Responsibilities: Program/Service Support: Consistent with the mission and values of the organization, the Manager, Corporate Education is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high quality orientation, training and professional development within St.Amant and services that adhere to policies of the organization and to the requirements of external accrediting or regulatory bodies. Duties include:
  • Supervises and supports the Corporate Education team to design, deliver, and maintain all corporate training content, including onboarding materials
  • Manages the Learning Management System (LMS) and supports the Corporate Education team to ensure accurate records and the maintenance of learning and development opportunities
  • Works in collaboration with the Safety Facilitator(s) to ensure Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is delivered with integrity; provides supervision and support to the Safety Facilitator(s) to track and evaluate course content and maintain instructor status
  • Manages various resources that support the creation and organization of training content including Canva, Zoom accounts, Knowbe4 (Cybersecurity), Open Future Learning, Vyond, and others as needed
  • Trains, coaches, and evaluates the effectiveness of appointed instructors/facilitators delivering training initiatives
  • Provides resources and support fo remployees that facilitate groups, train employees and/or make presentations as part of their responsibilities
  • Supports team planning sessions on a yearly or ad hoc basis. In collaboration with senior leadership, determines the focus of the session and ensures outcomes are developed.
  • Consults on training initiatives led by others (e.g. WHIMIS, PEP, Workplace Safety & Health, Infection Control) regarding training methodology, design, and rollout
  • Ensures managers/leaders are informed of initiatives available to them and their employees
  • Chairs and/or participates in committees and teams related to organizational and staff development and/or change initiatives as assigned
  • Co-chairs Beyond Limits: Canada\'s Conference for Diversity and Accessibility. This includes leading committee and conference executive meetings, providing support to all conference committee members, liaising with keynote speakers, and maintaining the budget.
  • Ensures training and educational material meets corporate goals and objectives, and legislative requirements
  • Provides relevant information, articles, websites, e-books, and references to all staff according to needs
  • Researches and develops information required for projects and initiatives; manages strategic projects as assigned
  • Acts as a resource in creating training plans for employees
  • Provides support and consultation for corporate initiatives
  • Seeks innovative ways to deliver training to employees such as e-learning, webinars, training videos, electronic books, etc.
  • Supports and promotes workforce development efforts related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
