  • Helps implement external communication strategies aligned with corporate strategy to create and promote a positive brand image.
  • Supports corporate message development and narrative creation for various external audiences.
  • Aids in development of communications materials such as factsheets, Q&As, talking points, speeches, backgrounders, and videos/scripts.
  • Supports media relations activities to help position the Company positively with key audiences and ensure an accurate public record.
  • Manages the Company\xe2\x80\x99s media monitoring platform.
  • Develops and manages a corporate editorial calendar to build a pipeline of content (blog stories, videos, social media posts) that demonstrates OceanaGold\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability efforts and responsible approach to operating.
  • Manage the Company\xe2\x80\x99s external digital channels, including corporate website and social media platforms to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
  • Use compelling narratives and standout content to grow our follower base.
  • Utilize analytics to track engagement metrics and adapt strategies to optimize performance of social posts.
  • Supports the Director Communications on issues management as needed.
  • Supports the development and production of corporate reporting documents such as the Sustainability Report, Management Proxy Circular and Annual Information Form to ensure coherent and consistent messaging and design.
  • Provide high level of editorial review to ensure consistency and quality across all communication channels/resources/materials.
  • Collaborate with external agencies (PR, design, creative) to ensure high-quality, on-brand materials.
  • Helps to maintain policies and procedures that protect and enhance OceanaGold\xe2\x80\x99s reputation.
Internal Communications
  • Leads development and execution of internal communication strategies to enhance employee experience and engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the roll-out/integration of key business initiatives.
  • Continuously story-mine across our offices and sites in partnership with the in-country/site-based communications teams to share successes and stories across the business.
  • Craft compelling messages that both celebrate the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Purpose, Vision, Values and Success Ingredients and resonate with our diverse, global workforce.
  • Recommend communication tools to keep employees informed and manage those communication platforms:
  • Intranet \xe2\x80\x93 proactively take the lead on ensuring content is up-to-date and stories from across the organization are being told.
  • Town Halls \xe2\x80\x93 assume primary responsibility for coordinating quarterly Townhall Meetings by creating agendas, partnering with speakers on content, editing & consolidating presentations, and implementing post-event surveys.
  • Video messages/Group-wide emails \xe2\x80\x93 assess whether these tools are required on a case-by-case basis.
  • Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders to maintain the corporate brand in alignment with the corporate Style Guide.
  • Review all site newsletters to ensure consistency of messaging.
  • Aid in building and maintaining the Company\xe2\x80\x99s image and video library.
  • Develop and drive feedback mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of internal communications efforts.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, with post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working for a publicly-traded company in natural resources, particularly mining, would be an assets.
  • Solid understanding of best-practices in corporate communications, reputation and brand management, and employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling messaging for a variety of audiences and channels. Ability to tailor content for specific audiences that demonstrates a deep understanding of messaging, positioning and stakeholder needs.
  • A track record of bringing stories to life across a variety of mediums.
  • Superior oral and written communication. Detail orientated with excellent editing skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work on several projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to be agile in responding to changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact with senior leaders as well as site-based colleagues, spanning all organizational levels.
  • Can take complex content and turn it into something that\xe2\x80\x99s succinct and easy to understand. When there\xe2\x80\x99s limited information, you do the research, talk to stakeholders, and figure it out.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re a self-starter who values accountability, teamwork, collaboration, kindness, creativity and having fun.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000-140,000.
