ROLE SUMMARY:

The Manager, Client Design & Delivery is responsible for communicating and executing the Client Design & Delivery process and mandate for their applicable portfolio and/or division. This position is responsible for managing this process, an entire folio team based in Toronto, and promoting and maintaining design standards with their direct reports and clients. This includes all in-line Retail (interior and exterior), Restaurants, Food Halls, Kiosks, Short term/Pop Up and Large non major retail. This position supports both development and operational projects and reports to the Sr. Director, Client Design + Delivery.

WHAT YOU WILL DELIVER:

  • Work in a cross-disciplinary team to establish the Client Design & Delivery vision in conjunction with the overall CF architectural vision as one branded design collaboration for the project as a whole
  • Effectively manage their respective folio including providing guidance and coaching to Sr. Coordinators/Coordinators to ensure their success within their role
  • Provide design direction all external design consultants as it relates to the project and their Client design
  • Provide design leadership to interior stakeholders in the form of schedule C and C-1 review, as it relates to the project and budgets for both design and build-out
  • Attend Leasing, and Property meetings, CTM\xe2\x80\x99s regarding incoming/current Client\xe2\x80\x99s possession, build-out and opening
  • Oversee the on-site Client retail construction process through to the completion of the project as a partner with the base building and property team to ensure all design and construction quality and schedules are maintained and executed per CF requirements
  • Relay all National design directives to respective Sr. Coordinators/Coordinators per the Sr. Director, Client Design & Delivery
  • Oversee and ensure the smooth and consistent operation of the Area Studies, LOD and TOD ordering, approval and delivery process for their respective portfolio
  • Oversee all Schedule C/C_1 requests and design updates in collaboration with the Leasing and Legal Departments and the Property where applicable
  • Meet with Clients prior to commencement of their design to establish schematic strategy in line with CF\xe2\x80\x99s Client Design standards
  • Maintain R+D for Client brands, new construction processes, materials, and business as it relates to Client Design
  • Brief all Coordinators on Cadillac Fairview\xe2\x80\x99s Client Design standards and give design input as needed for applying these standards to operating and development centres
  • Coach all Sr. Coordinators/Coordinators in accordance with business improvement initiatives and company and department objectives to the required standard and frequency
  • Generate or manage the production of 3D renderings and design packages that clearly express CF\xe2\x80\x99s Client Design to assist with the Leasing Department\xe2\x80\x99s marketing efforts for both Developments and Operational properties. Participate as a Key Account Lead for retail based internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in problem solving/conflict resolution while being solution oriented and pro-active
  • Ability to undertake and effectively manage large-scale projects is an asset
  • Experience in hospitality, office and/or residential is an asset.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design/ Architecture Program or other post-secondary education with a professional degree from an accredited School of Interior Design/ Architecture or an accredited college/CEGEP (possess DEC from a minimum 3 year program) with an interior design or architecture designation, or 7 years within the construction field in a management position
  • ARIDO \xe2\x80\x93 intern or greater, OAA intern or greater, or PMP Certification
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant and progressive experience in Retail Design/ Tenant Coordination or a related field, with experience managing and mentoring teams
  • Strong experience in a client-facing service role
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current trends in retail design and food merchandising
  • Ability to read and understand comprehensive and fully developed construction drawing sets (i.e.: architectural mechanical and electrical plans) and possess a solid knowledge of construction detailing and build-out
  • Knowledgeable of the following programs: Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), AutoCad, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Bluebeam and Sketch-Up
  • Ability to communicate ideas through sketching and graphic representation as well as verbally
  • Experience with code and building permit formats per local folio.
