Job Description

Our client, a renowned company in the food industry in St Stephen (New Brunswick), is currently seeking a Maintenance manager to fill a permanent position.

Summary:



We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing a skilled maintenance team, ensuring machinery and equipment operate at peak performance, and championing continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to boost operational efficiency and facility upkeep.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:



o

Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Assistant, Maintenance Planner, and Parts Coordinator to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

o

Lead the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime.

o

Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to streamline planning and tracking processes.

o

Empower the team to safely and effectively perform routine inspections, repairs, and installations, fostering a culture of operational excellence.

o

Uphold strict adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards across all maintenance activities.

o

Provide clear coaching, strategic direction, and performance feedback to ensure the team remains aligned, agile, and accountable for delivering high-impact results.

o

Proactively identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and process optimization.

o

Lead and actively contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders across departments.

o

Develop, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive measurable improvements in maintenance effectiveness.

o

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and sustain CI methodologies throughout the facility's operations.

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and grounds. Develop and manage the facility maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services and projects. Ensure the facility meets all regulatory and compliance requirements. Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources. Implement inventory control systems and processes to minimize downtime and maximize equipment
availability.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and equipment to enhance maintenance operations. Collaborate with Engineering and Leadership to identify and prioritize capital improvement opportunities. Lead or support the execution of facilities and operations improvement projects. Provide technical input and manage implementation timelines and resources. Contribute to annual capital planning and budgeting processes. Build and lead a high-performing team through coaching, accountability, and process alignment. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture. Provide regular performance feedback and development opportunities to support team member growth. Conduct team meetings to communicate objectives, recognize achievements, and resolve challenges. Hold team members accountable to high standards in safety, reliability, and productivity

Qualifications:



o

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong experience in developing and optimizing maintenance systems and processes. Proficiency with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM). Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Proficiency with CMMS software and maintenance analytics. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across functional teams. Knowledge of safety regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
