Job Description

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance operations in our manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance team, ensuring optimal performance of machinery and equipment, and driving continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

1)

Maintenance Management:



Work closely with the Maintenance Assistant, Maintenance Planner, and Parts Coordinator to ensure efficient daily operations. Lead the team in developing and executing preventative maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Support the implementation and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System to enhance planning and tracking. Guide and empower the team to schedule and complete routine inspections, repairs, and installations safely and effectively. Ensure the team adheres to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Provide coaching and direction to ensure the team is aligned, responsive, and accountable for high-performance outcomes.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:



Identify and act on opportunities for cost savings, efficiency gains, and process enhancements. Lead and participate in CI projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Establish and maintain KPIs to monitor and improve maintenance performance. Work closely with cross-functional teams to embed sustainable CI practices across the facility.

3) Facility Maintenance:



Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and grounds. Develop and manage the facility maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services and projects. Ensure the facility meets all regulatory and compliance requirements.

4) Inventory and Resource Management:



Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources. Implement inventory control systems and processes to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and equipment to enhance maintenance operations.

5) Capital Projects:



Collaborate with Engineering and Leadership to identify and prioritize capital improvement opportunities. Lead or support the execution of facilities and operations improvement projects. Provide technical input and manage implementation timelines and resources. Contribute to annual capital planning and budgeting processes.

6) Team Leadership and Development:



Build and lead a high-performing team through coaching, accountability, and process alignment. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture. Provide regular performance feedback and development opportunities to support team member growth. Conduct team meetings to communicate objectives, recognize achievements, and resolve challenges. Hold team members accountable to high standards in safety, reliability, and productivity.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong experience in developing and optimizing maintenance systems and processes. Proficiency with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM). Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Proficiency with CMMS software and maintenance analytics. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across functional teams. Knowledge of safety regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
