Maintenance Manager
to join our leadership team.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of building, equipment, and grounds maintenance in the home. This role is both hands-on and supervisory: you'll perform a variety of maintenance tasks while also leading a small team, managing contractors, and overseeing the preventative maintenance program.
You will play a key role in ensuring safety, reliability, and comfort for our residents and staff, while managing budgets, contractors, and capital planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the maintenance program, including preventative maintenance and emergency response.
Perform and/or coordinate repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and general building upkeep.
Supervise and support maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
Manage maintenance budgets, purchasing, and inventory.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, fire safety, and emergency preparedness.
Collaborate with leadership on capital projects and long-term asset management.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful work environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience in building maintenance, with hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Training or certification in construction, power engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
Leadership experience, including staff supervision and contractor management.
Proficiency with basic computer systems and preventative maintenance software.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, bending, standing/walking).
