About the Role:
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team and help oversee the safe and efficient operation of our overnight camp facility. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on the maintenance, repair, and functionality of all buildings, vehicles, equipment, waterfront systems, and grounds.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside our current Facility Director and the existing maintenance and housekeeping team, It would be ideal to start training as soon as possible to gain a full understanding of the camp's winterization needs before taking on greater responsibility in the spring.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of cabins, program spaces, buildings, vehicles, grounds, and waterfront areas
Supervise and schedule the Maintenance/Groundskeeping and Housekeeping teams
Coordinate work orders and priorities with camp leadership
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (fire safety, water systems, waste, etc.)
Conduct regular inspections and proactively address issues
Oversee the use, repair, and maintenance of boats, docks, and waterfront equipment
Assist in repairing kitchen equipment as needed
Manage tools, equipment inventory, and supply orders
Lead opening and closing procedures for camp each season (winterizing and summarizing systems)
Maintain clear documentation of maintenance logs, safety checks, and supply usage
Support program staff with setup and takedown of activity areas and events
Be on-call for urgent facility issues, including nights and weekends
Qualifications:
Must be local to Gravenhurst or the surrounding area
Experience in facility operations, general maintenance, or construction
Supervisory experience and strong organizational skills
Familiarity with waterfront operations and boating equipment is an asset
Ability to complete basic plumbing, electrical, and equipment repairs
Experience with administrative tasks like payroll and invoicing
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to be on-call and work weekends as needed during the season
Schedule & Training:
Ideal candidate would start training now to become familiar with camp systems and procedures
Work is seasonal, with a winter break
Full responsibilities resume April 1, 2026 for spring/summer camp prep
This role will work alongside the current Facility Director for a smooth transition
