Job Summary:



We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Manual Machinist

with a strong background in machining steel components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating manual machine tools (such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses) to fabricate or modify parts and components to precise specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of technical drawings, and experience working with various grades of steel.

Key Responsibilities:



Operate manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, and other machine tools to produce steel parts to specification. Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions. Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper operation and part quality. Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure conformance to tolerances. Select appropriate materials, speeds, and feeds for various steel types. Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production timelines. Work independently or collaboratively with team members, engineers, and supervisors. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred. 3+ years of experience as a manual machinist, specifically working with steel components. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Strong knowledge of machining processes and metalworking principles. Skilled in using measurement and inspection tools to verify part accuracy. Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively. Good physical condition with the ability to lift materials and stand for long periods.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):



Experience with heat-treated steels, stainless steel, or alloy steels. Familiarity with basic welding or fabrication tasks. CNC machining experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment:



Manufacturing floor/shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and metalworking fluids. May require standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
