Senior Cnc Machinist
Job Description
Zaber is looking for a creative and experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join our Machine Shop. You will program, set up, run, and troubleshoot CNC machines, manufacturing aluminum and stainless steel components. You get to apply your strong problem-solving skills to overcome complex challenges.
As part of our team, you will figure out how to make the parts for our high-performance positioning devices. You will help us improve and evolve our team's machining processes and mentor more junior machinists. You will develop skills in our production, IQC, and administrative processes and help to advance those systems.
The machine shop supports a number of processes within the company. From building new prototypes, to machining custom components for customer needs, to building inventory for stock. As a member of the machine shop team, you will collaborate broadly across engineering, production, and purchasing.

As a Senior CNC Machinist, you will:
Develop processes for CNC mills, lathes, and waterjets, including designing and building necessary tools and fixtures. Set up machines for production, and write and prove CNC programs. Troubleshoot, improve, and simplify machine setups. Communicate with the design team for clarity or with suggestions. Operate machines to tight tolerances and standards, and inspect parts to ensure they meet all specifications.

You're the ideal Senior CNC Machinist if you have:
Significant experience with CNC programming and machining complex, high-tolerance parts (<.025mm) on 4 and 5-axis machining centers. Expertise in interpreting tight flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, and positional tolerances, coupled with intimate knowledge of precision measuring tools and practices. 8+ years of experience in machining, including formal machinist education. Willingness to be a contributor to a highly productive team. Strong computer communication and office skills.

CAM and Macro experience. GD&T experience. Any experience with automation, CMMs, or computer programming.

Senior CNC Machinist Wage:
The starting wage for the role is $40 - $50/hour depending on experience.
