Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee operations in our yard and ensure the efficient handling of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse distribution, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role is crucial for maintaining safety standards and optimizing workflow within the yard.

Duties

Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. Oversee the loading and unloading of materials using various equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes. Manage shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of materials. Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain an organized distribution area. Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning. Train new employees on safety protocols and equipment operation. Assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Build strong relationships with team members to foster a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in warehouse distribution or a similar role. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and order pickers. Must have air brakes licence. Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
