Logistics Support Services Shipping Coordinator As a key member of the Material Control team, the LSS Shipping Coordinator will report to the Manager, Material Control and is responsible for coordinating and managing the shipping process for the organization and provide direction on shipping to vendors and the shipping department. What does a Logistics Support Services Shipping Coordinator do?
  • Recommend and select best methods of transportation of material to and from Line Maintenance Base(s)/Transit Line Maintenance Base(s).
  • Coordinate with shipping vendors to provide timelines and cost(s).
  • Ensure shipping costs to and from LMB/TLMB are in line with budget by sourcing shipping quotes on behalf of all departments.
  • Review Shipping Invoices to identify correct billing codes.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with couriers and freight forwarding companies.
  • Plan and track shipments based on product availability and customer requirements, ensuring orders make timely deliveries.
  • Work with customs brokers to facilitate expedient clearance of shipments.
  • Respond to questions/complaints from Aviation Material Technicians (AMT) and customers.
  • Prepare, review, and organize all shipment documentation, invoices, quotes, and service provider records.
  • Make process improvements on shipping processes and provide follow-up training to departments involved in the shipping process, when required.
  • Additional duties as required.
What you bring to the table
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Dangerous Goods Certified.
  • WHMIS Certified.
  • Capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Capable of multitasking and making timely operational decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office Suite.
Previous experience is an asset required however, we encourage all individuals to apply with who may have transferable skills in the following: warehouse, aviation, shipping and receiving/shipping.
