The Senior Coordinator, Finance and Corporate Services is responsible for gathering, coordinating, preparing and reviewing various reports related to the Finance and Corporate Services portfolio across 14 Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) organizations. This positions supports efficient, effective and timely submissions to the Ministry of Health, and other external stakeholders. The position also supports the development and coordination of Board materials primarily for the Finance, Information and Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities


As a key support to the Chief Corporate Services and CFO, and the Vice Presidents Finance, Information Technology and Decision Support, the Senior Coordinator works in collaboration with the VPs and portfolio leads in each of the 14 HCCSS organizations to oversee the tracking, gathering and submission of various corporate service and finance reports. This includes preparing and updating a work plan outlining the various reports and their submission dates, ensuring timelines reflect review and approval processes required by VPs, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and/or the HCCSS Board of Directors.


Responsibilities and portfolios to be supported may include the following:
Procurement

  • Coordinate and submit provincial reports including, but not limited to, Procurement Activity Reports, Procurement Tracker, Section 28 approval requests, etc. Liaise with Ontario Health as required.
Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA)
  • Coordinate and submit reports to the CEO office or MOH including, but not limited to, Quarterly Attestation of Compliance, Board and Executive Expense Reimbursements, etc.
Financial Monthly Reporting
  • Track and follow up on local monthly reporting submissions to support timeliness and quality of consolidation reporting
Periodic MOH Financial Reports
  • Coordinate and submit reports as requested by MOH for various funding initiatives including, but not limited to, Temporary Retention Incentive for Nurses (TRIN) Program, Personal Support Worker Permanent Compensation Enhancement Program, etc.
AAD (Agency Accountability Directive) Year-end Reports
  • Coordinate and submit reports to CEO office or MOH including, but not limited to, Certificate of Assurance, Fraud Awareness, Audited Financial Statements, Annual Report financials
Board Committee Reports
  • Assist in consolidating and reviewing FAI briefing notes and presentations
  • Track FAI (Finance, Audit, and Information) work plan deliverables and ensure submissions are received for consolidation
  • Support submissions to other Committees as required
Corporate Services
  • Provide assistance on Information Technology, Facilities, Decision Support and Privacy portfolios as required including creating an annual work plan for report submissions and supporting timeliness of submissions
Transition Support
  • Supports Finance and Corporate Services leads on Transition Steering Committee
Other Items
  • Coordinates other related report submissions for new initiatives announced by the MOH throughout the term of this engagement
  • Performs other related duties/responsibilities as assigned



Qualifications
  • University degree in Business/Economics/Administration or related field
  • Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years related experience in finance or corporate services
  • Significant experience in reviewing financial business cases
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health directly or indirectly
  • Strong knowledge of HCCSS business strategies, objectives, business priorities and related requirements for crown agencies including legislative frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with MIS reporting
  • Significant knowledge of HCCSS and MOH funding process
  • Ability to prepare Board level materials including proven experience in coordinating and managing senior management requests
  • Strong knowledge of planning, organizational and analytical analysis skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office applications knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
