MISSION The Senior Director, Finance & Corporate Services provides leadership to the multiple areas of finance and corporate services, including budgeting, finance, accounting, procurement, facilities management, information technology and decision support and leads the organization\xe2\x80\x99s operating process. The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a compassionate, analytic and hands-on leader to fulfill the role of the Senior Director, Finance & Corporate Services. PRIORITIES Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive and constructive interpersonal relationships with the staff, volunteers, residents, visitors, outside agencies, government officials and related professional associations.
  • Maintain and adhere to organizational policies, procedures and all relevant legislation.
  • Abide by all occupational health and safety policies.
Financial Management:
  • Develop and implement financial strategy, and provide strategic recommendations to the President & CEO and other organizational leaders.
  • Lead the planning and development of the agency\xe2\x80\x99s annual budget, and its submission to government.
  • Provide on-going monitoring and financial forecasts to ensure a balanced financial result.
  • Develop, implement and maintain all administrative policies and procedures for proper internal control, and to comply with government directives, practices and policies.
  • Facilitate and oversee annual financial audits conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.
  • Oversee and direct all financial processes, including AP, AR, month end reconciliations, monthly financial statements, variance and performance analysis, forecasting, and procurement.
  • Direct, supervise, mentor and develop the accounting and payroll staff
Corporate Services, Decision Support:
  • Work proactively with the senior leadership team in the implementation of the agency\'s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement a business continuity plan for the agency, and maintain a framework of performance measurement and indicators.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of business processes, procurement and financial information.
  • Lead and direct the corporate functions of Information Technology and Facilities Management.
  • Ensure continued compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements.
  • Oversee the process of data collection, processing analysis and its reporting.
Strategy, Planning and Risk Management (Insurance):
  • In partnership with the senior leadership team, develop, monitor and lead the implementation of strategic and operational plan.
  • Create and implement Departmental Action Plans, in collaboration with all departments.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships and alliances with partners who will advance the Agency\'s strategic priorities.
  • Assist in assessing risks in all programs and services and develops a strategy to mitigate risks.
  • Improve organizational success in all staff functions through the lens of diversity, inclusion, and equity by supporting the Agency\'s diversity and inclusion strategy.
  • Support communication, education, and training plans that increase awareness and understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity.
  • Provide strategic leadership to develop and maintain a risk management framework.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.
Requirements TALENTS & EXPERTISE
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation required.
  • 5 years in a senior financial role responsible for financial strategy, overseeing and delivering the full range of financial and accounting practices, including but not limited, to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, cash flow management, AP/AR.
  • Experience in a public sector setting in an agency, hospital, not for profit, children and youth mental health setting preferred.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of corporate services, procurement, risk management, and decision support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to establish positive partnerships and work as a leader of a multidisciplinary agency with external agencies, government and funders.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills, with an ability to work effectively with multi-professional groups while facilitating organizational change.
  • Proven success in leading transformational change through the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial management strategy - in a complex, multiple stakeholders, professionally staffed, unionized organization.
