JOB SUMMARY: As the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the operation of transportation services for our Sainte-Catherine facility. Reporting to the Director of Fleet Operations, this person will act as a key member of the Customer Service team, working closely with the Procurement Coordinator and the Logistics Coordinator to improve the customer experience. This position supports all aspects of transportation management at the provincial level, including tools, systems, network optimization and fleet management. We are currently looking for a results-oriented person who is also seen as a motivator and mentor, someone who can guide the team and develop their talent. You will also be responsible for customer satisfaction and financial goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure that company health and safety policies are followed.
  • Manage with honesty, integrity and knowledge that fosters the company's culture and values.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all route and equipment related functions used for the collection of animal by-Products.
  • Provide guidance to guide reporting so that standard operating procedures are understood and followed, any deviations are noted and corrective actions are taken appropriately.
  • Train and develop a team of drivers to execute the service expectations of our customers.
  • Manage the activities of the garage, both internally and subcontracted.
  • Foster an atmosphere of positive employee relationships by constantly talking with drivers, listening to their feedback and applying it whenever possible.
  • Design efficient routes on a daily basis for drivers to execute the next day, including rescheduling missed calls.
  • Manage staff planning to account for vacations and absences to cover daily sending.
  • Support the resolution of the root causes of Customer Service related problems/complaints.
  • Train and discipline drivers as required.
  • Work with the logistics team to determine the contribution to purchase capital for Ontario with respect to the ongoing replenishment of rolling stock.
FLEET REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:
  • Effectively know and understand the working conditions and constraints of his/her team, the logistics supervisor should allow time to visit client locations during the performance of the service and be prepared to accompany drivers as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policy.
  • Troubleshoot problems with on-board computers, work with the supplier to resolve issues.
  • Plan preventive maintenance (PM) of garage equipment to ensure that it is kept up to date.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in transportation management.
  • Strong skills for employee management.
  • Very good experience in heavy vehicle mechanics
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere to achieve goals
  • Experience required in supervision in a transportation environment.
  • Shipping experience required.
  • Competence in coaching, directing and training employees.
  • Computer skills : Working knowledge of Outlook and Excel, experience in the use of transport software.
