Position Title: Logistics Scheduler Team and Location: STaR \xe2\x80\x93 Calgary, AB Minimum Salary: $ 79,600 /year Position Summary: Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Scheduler will work closely within a team of Schedulers and Analysts to effectively implement, service and support for Supply and Trading in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) profit center. The Logistics Scheduler will be responsible for all activities related to the precision of arrival, in-transit optimization, and delivery while being flexible to handle any supply chain or logistical constraints as they occur. Excellent communication skills, alongside strong negotiation skills will support the collaborative and competitive nature of this role, which secures organization EBITA/margin retention. The Logistics Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating between carriers, counterparties, terminals, refinery operations, customs, and government agencies, as applicable and will report on major disruptions to all levels of leadership within the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with each internal department, as well as external customers and stakeholders, to insure the safe and efficient movement of products. Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication, coordination, optimization and execution of over 2500 rail movements/year.
  • Work collaboratively with Supply, Trading and Refinery Operations team to plan and execute product movements in the best interest of organization execution and margin optimization.
  • Ensures inventory positions are correctly reported, with all associating IT transfers, rail loads/offloads and truck tickets are balanced.
  • Builds strong relationships through networking with industry customers and railroads to understand key business drivers and anticipate industry trends
  • Document management and review: Bills of Lading, vendor/carrier invoices, COA.
  • Order Management, Customer Service (internal and external).
  • Resolves day to day logistics issues while being proactive and highly responsive.
  • Manages logistics targets set out at the beginning of the year, mitigating costs across the business.
  • Responsible for coordinating fleet repairs.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years experience in a logistics scheduling role, specific to the energy industry
  • Rail logistics experience would be an asset

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication \xe2\x80\x93 ability to accurately incorporate both financial and operational information clearly, with definitive actions
  • Ability to incorporate multiple inputs/factors into decision making matrix
  • Adept problem-solving skills

  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Allegro experience would be an asset
  • Proficient with MS Suite of Office programs \xe2\x80\x93 Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
