Logistics Manager - Pro-ExThe Logistics Manager is responsible for efficient operations of the Pro-Ex mail courier service, a division of The Pike Group. The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, mail contracts, financial measures and KPIs and employee relations encompassing employees and contract drivers.The primary responsibility is to manage, motivate and develop the driver team to achieve excellence in all areas of the operation.The Logistics Manager is tasked with providing, maintaining, and developing several different services such as:o Ensures that Occupational Health & Safety programs are in place and that employees are clear on expectations of complianceo Manage a distributed team of drivers to ensure timely and accurate mail delivery.o Oversee daily activities of driver team and provide direction and guidance as needed.o Perform resource allocations and workload assignments according to delivery requirements.o Ensure that team maintains high level of competence and operational excellence.o Evaluate the performance of team members and determine training needs.o Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries and concerns.o Ensures that accurate fleet records are maintained, collaborating with the Operations Manager to find ways to reduce vehicle costso Works collaboratively with the Operations Manager and external vendors to ensure that vehicles are maintained in an efficient way, makes recommendations regarding lease versus buy decisions, and is accountable for refresh planso Ensures that staff training programs are adhered too Participates in key training initiativeso Proactively monitors contracts business growth opportunitieso Responsible for preparing and implementing proposalso Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously within tight timeframes.o Must be able to interact effectively and diplomatically with all company personnel with a positive and proactive approach to the requirements of other departments.o Must be flexible with work schedules if required to meet the needs of the business during busy periodsThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a logistics environment, with excellent knowledge of road transport laws and history of managing a teams of 10 or more.The applicant must have a can do attitude, be capable of working to strict deadlines and be prepared for an environment where they will be challenged every day.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:
