Inventory & Logistics Manager Virtek Vision International Inc. is looking for a hands-on Inventory & Logistics Manager with experience managing a small team, and functional expertise in inventory control/management and export/import compliance as well as warehousing. Must be a problem solver. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory & Logistics Manager is responsible for the materials movement/flow inbound, through the site, and outbound. Specifically, this refers to material receiving, storage/warehousing & inventory control, cycle counts, order picking for production, general material handling, and shipping/export/distribution. These functions inclusive of all physical handling as well as the virtual transactions in Epicor (ERP system), to support business objectives through management and support of two direct reports: Logistics Supervisor and Stock Controller. This role is required to be on-site. Experiencing using Epicor ERP system would be highly desirable for this role, but not essential. Responsibilities Core responsibilities involve achieving daily workload and performance objectives, associated KPI reporting, while demonstrating a commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role directly supports all freight, logistics, and distribution activity, including import / export compliance, and manages day-to-day efforts of shipping, receiving, and stock control activities, while maintaining clean, organized, CTPAT and ISO 9001 compliant warehouse spaces. Experience with 5S/6S and lean concepts would be an asset. Implementation and enforcement of inventory management best practices with emphasis on accuracy and supporting timely system transactions, regular cycle-counts and physical inventory exercises, and troubleshooting inventory discrepancies. Work Order material issuance and inventory reconciliation (issuing and/or back-flushing), and month-end closing of Work Orders is also a critical task that this role will oversee and support. Warehouse equipment maintenance, training coordination, CTPAT compliance maintenance are also key responsibilities, and administration of any applicable Standard Operating Procedures. The Inventory & Logistics Manager has a customer service focus for internal stake holders as well as external, and therefore needs to be able to work collaboratively with all levels of personnel and engage in an environment that supports teamwork and respect for people. Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree preferably in supply chain, materials & operations management, Logistics, International Trade, or related, e.g., business administration, finance.
  • Applicable certifications/designations would be an asset, e.g. CPIM, CLTD, CITT.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience supervising/managing people, and performance management.
  • Minimum 5-years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in progressive materials management role(s), e.g. inventory, warehousing, shipping/receiving, stock control, or related supply chain roles.
AND/OR, minimum 5-years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with international logistics/trade compliance including global transportation, logistics/freight forwarding and regulatory import/export compliance, distribution, duty brokerage, and customs. (Or some combination)
  • Experience in material planning, inventory control, and production control would also be considered.
  • Minimum 5-years using an ERP and/or WMS software system(s) for inventory/material planning/MRP/Warehousing. Experience using Epicor ERP system would be asset.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple expectations while collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Ability and drive to take on increased levels of learning and accountability with responsibility, good judgement, and exceptional service attitude.
  • Works effectively with and build relationships with all core groups and external service providers, and external customers.
  • Self-motivated to take initiative to solve problems independently with a positive attitude.
  • Works well under pressure and is very assertive with suppliers and internal customers.

  • Physical requirements include stooping, bending, standing, climbing and lifting of between 20 kg \xe2\x80\x93 30kg.
