Livestock hand, will be caring for a variety of Heritage animals. Grooming and driving horse drawn wagons for Summary:
Assisting with all regular duties associated with livestock at Fort Steele Heritage Town, this exceptional individual will be multi-talented with the ability to maintain the high quality of care our animals require and assist other departments as we strive to coordinate many different and diverse programs and events for our visitors. Ensuring public safety is essential while conducting all duties as we greet thousands of visitors each year. Duties & Responsibilities:
Contract length: 4 months Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40 per week Schedule:

Ensuring public safety is essential while conducting all duties as we greet thousands of visitors each year. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform basic animal care for an assortment of farm animals including horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, and cattle.
- Perform basic veterinary and hoof care duties.
- Groom, harness, and handle horses
- Drive draft horses on a variety of horse drawn wagons and farm implements.
- Conduct demonstrations and educational programming to school groups as well as the general public utilizing horses and turn-of-the-century equipment and techniques.
- Ability to maintain, clean, and repair livestock facilities and equipment, including the maintenance and operation of historic farm equipment.
- Ability to operate modern farm equipment.
- Willingness to assist other departments as requested.
Contract length: 4 months Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40 per week Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime pay
- Fort Steele, BC V0B 1N0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
