Job Description

Position Summary:

The Line-X Prep Technician is responsible for preparing truck beds and other surfaces for the application of Line-X protective coatings. This includes masking, sanding, cleaning, and ensuring all surfaces are properly prepped to achieve high-quality coating results. The role requires attention to detail, a focus on safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean, degrease, and sand surfaces prior to coating application. Mask off areas not to be sprayed using tape, plastic, and paper. Inspect truck beds and parts for damage or defects before preparation. Assist in moving vehicles or parts in and out of the spray booth. Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep area and tools. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Support the spray technician by preparing materials and assisting as needed. Perform minor touch-ups and quality checks after spraying. Maintain accurate records of prep work performed. Assist with basic truck accessory installations. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in automotive prep, detailing, or painting preferred (LINE-X or Rhino Linings experience a plus). Prior experience with spray foam considered an asset. Basic knowledge of hand tools, sanders, and masking techniques. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions. Valid driver's license Mandatory

Work Environment:

Fast-paced automotive shop environment. Exposure to chemicals, dust, and noise (protective equipment provided). Team-oriented workplace with opportunities for training and advancement.
