We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. The Prep Cook will assist in meal preparation, maintain food safety standards, and support the overall efficiency of our kitchen environment.
Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables and other food items.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food handling practices.
Experience
Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry is a plus.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills will contribute to success in this role.
