Line cook - Country Kitchen Port Hastings

Job brief

The Country Kitchen Restaurant Port Hastings is currently recruiting for a full time line cook. We offer very completive wages.

Responsibilities

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

Prepare food for service

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

Answer, report and follow supervisors instructions

Clean up station and take care of leftover food

Stock inventory appropriately

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

Proven cooking experience working in a face paced environment

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Familiar with industry's best practices

Culinary school diploma would be considered an asset

Must be available to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.70-$16.70 per hour

Port Hastings, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
Work Location: In person
