The Old City Station Pub is seeking a dedicated Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are consistently maintained in our kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigerators and storage areas.
Adhere to food safety standards and procedures, including Foodsafe guidelines, to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and storage.
Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient and timely service.
Follow established portion control guidelines to minimize waste and ensure consistency.
Contribute to menu development and innovation by providing input and ideas based on industry trends and customer preferences.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures, including Foodsafe certification.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
